The GinPit Halloween & Bonfire Bash!
Saturday 30th October 2010
You are cordially invited to join us for a beautiful evening of seasonal Costume & Carnival in the relaxed and tranquil setting of GinPit Village Green. The evening’s celebrations will begin with the lighting of the bonfire at 7:30pm and will include a combination of Bonfire Night Traditions and Halloween Antics ~ all set against a beautiful lantern lit backdrop of the Mystical Woodlands.
There will be traditional fun & festivities, seasonal food & drink, sweets & treats, fantastic entertainment, a great atmosphere and lots and lots of Seasonal Spirit!
The Evening’s Entertainment:
- The Lighting of the Bonfire ~ which will burn long into the night!
- The Burning of the Guys ~ bring yours along and join the burning!
- The Lantern Parade ~ pumpkins or otherwise, join the parade!
- The Fancy Dress Winners Prize ~ children & adults, dress to impress!
- The Release of Giant Sky Lanterns ~ watch them rise up into the night sky, you can make a wish and launch your own too!
Please Note – there will not be a public firework display at this event. The evening is toddler friendly and dog friendly… no loud bangs whatsoever! Just all the great warmth and atmosphere provided by a traditional yet alternative bonfire bash! The night sky will instead be illuminated with giant sky lanterns ~ the Ancient Chinese tranquil alternative to fireworks.

For £5.00 you to can have your very own Sky lantern to, and if you chose you can write a message on the lantern and make it into a Sky Wish. The Lanterns are all fire retardent, biodegrabable, last for approx 10mins. They are about 100cm tall and 50cm dia.

*PLEASE NOTE, If the winds are too strong then it wont be possibal to release the sky lanterns, but you will be able to take your lantern away with you.
Tonight a test lantern flight was held initial reports are that the flight was a success, as soon as we get more informaton we will update this post.

We seem to be selling the lanterns quite well and please to avoid disappointment get yours now. While chatting with freinds, tell them oubout them and you could be helping the village. This years Profits iam told are to be spent on giveing the envioroment plant a tree project a kick start.
