Hi, I was just browsing Gin Pit Village with my husband and saw the post from a NZer above. We presently live in Christchurch, NZ and after the two devasting earthquakes (Sept and Feb) plus in excess of 5000 aftershocks, are desperately looking to move back to the UK (I grew up in Tyldesley), but dont want to loose the sense of community and belonging we found here in Chch. We thought of Gin Pit immediately. We hope to move into your community, finances allowing (we are told it maybe 3 years before our house here gets fixed and we are able to sell it). It is refreshing to see the photos online on your website and see that a sense of environment and community is still strong. Wishing you all the best (and hoping we can make a move there sooner than later – but we’ll see). Bye from sunny (but very shaky) NZ.
