Planting Day In Gin Pit Village

Posted by Philip Winterbottom under: GinPit Village Chat .

Following a successful application for a “Green Grant” from Adactus Housing Association, the Gin Pit Village Residents Association has been awarded £1,000 to improve the environment in the village.

We have arranged a Planting Day to plant new trees, plants and flowers and to replace the soil in communal garden areas in the village.  All residents are welcome to attend and any help from our friends would be much appreciated.  Members of staff from Adactus Housing Association, Connaughts and Wigan Council will also be helping out on the day.

Planting day is on:-

FRIDAY 19th JUNE 2009 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm (approx)

Please come along and join in!

Thanks to everyone who came out to help on the planting day, everywhere is begining to look so much better already, there is more to do so don’t lets stop there. If anyone has a spare hour please do a bit to help and maybe do a bit of weeding outside your house. Its a never ending job and any time you can spare is fantastic. Don’t wait for someone to ask for your help just get stuck in remember the village is for everyone’s enjoyment.
